We’re so excited that spring is in bloom, and so is our garden, which is coming along nicely thanks to our friendly staff. We’ve got seeds planted in a hot house with our Sous Chef, Brian Volmrich, who is also already supplying us with micro greens for use in our award winning Northern Virginia restaurant. Brian’s current greenhouse was nearly destroyed by the wind storms in early March but has been patched up enough for us to get a good start to the growing season. Brian has also taken this as an opportunity to build a bigger and better greenhouse with help from the Agriculture Dept. of Virginia, so we can really scale up our gardens and summer produce production. There’s always so much to look forward to at our quaint inn and restaurant in the Shenandoah Valley, and this season is no exception.

Winter is finally over and it is time to celebrate the mothers in your life with the best brunch or dinner in the Shenandoah Valley! Chef Richard’s menu for Mother’s Day will reflect all that is best of the spring season. Brunch is just $70 per person, and will include a gourmet 3-course prix-fixe menu. For dinner, you may choose from our regular seasonal menu with prix-fixe options including 4-courses, 5-courses, or our chef’s tasting menu, with prices ranging from $89 to $135 per person. Before or after you dine with us, stop by the Mother’s Day Plant Sale and Tour at the Virginia State Arboretum, just 2 minutes from the inn. The plant sale is one of the largest in the Northern Virginia area and features many native plants of our region. It’s a great way to enjoy the scenery and take home some beautiful plants for your own garden. It will be open Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., rain or shine.

Award winning Vintner and Winemaker Jeff White and his lovely wife Kelly will be on hand for our annual Glen Manor Wine Dinner. What a wonderful time to pay tribute to this historic winery and pair their fabulous wines with the Shenandoah Valley’s best produce and farm fresh products. Chef Richard Wright and Sommelier Christian Borel have created a gourmet menu with wine pairing that is unmatched in sophistication and whimsy.
