The Brilliance of Fall in the Shenandoah Valley

Saturday, October 14th, 2017

The fall is the time to visit the Shenandoah Valley and our romantic Virginia bed and breakfast and celebrate the harvest season.  The warm days, and crisp nights and the first of the season crackling of the fireplaces make this the best time of the year.  We have two great seasonal overnight specials.

Grapes hanging from a fall tree

The Two Night Harvest Repast Special is certainly the favorite.  Arrive at your room or suite with 6 chocolate strawberries awaiting you.  Snuggle up together and one night we will deliver to your room a Harvest Repast:

While you’re here at the inn get out in the country and enjoy the weather hiking the Blue Ridge, or horseback riding  through the pastures of the valley.  Zip lining through the treetops bursting with fall color. Or perhaps just enjoy a nice couples massage in the comfort of your suite.

Virginia Spring Break :: Farm Fresh Food & Wildflowers

Thursday, March 3rd, 2016

Spring flowers in Virginia

The earliest of flowers are springing up and the greening of the fields has begun.  The vineyards will be starting to show their new shoots and the earliest of the wildflowers will be here in just a few weeks.  Snow bells are in bloom and the crocuses and tulips are starting to shyly poke their green leaves through the mulch reaching towards the sky.

The ground hog saw his shadow and with that good news, spring is on it’s way.  It is a great time to visit the Shenandoah National Park and the Virginia State Arboretum at Blandy Farm where the little critters are creeping out of their winter dens and life is renewing and rejuvenating.  Birds are making their spring migration and we have seen our first robins!  Hiking and biking are best in the spring when the air is still slightly crisp and the sun warms the day.

Easter is just a few weeks away and at L’Auberge Provencale we are delighted to start to use the bounty of our surrounding farms in our restaurant and brasserie. Our friends at Shenandoah Seasonal are already in full swing providing us with organic vegetables and we are happy to report our farmers of gmo free, free range chickens, ducks, pork and beef are able to provide us again with the freshest and best.

Al Fresco Dining Provence Style

Al Fresco Dining Provence Style

This year is the 100th anniversary of Mother’s Day and we think that calls for a special celebration. Executive Chef Joseph Watters has created a fabulous Mother’s Day Dinner Menu which we will serve all afternoon starting from 12:00pm until 7:00 pm. We also have a gift for each mom, a piece of Provence, a French lavender plant, for them to take home and enjoy all summer long.

The Virginia State Arboretum, just minutes from L’Auberge Provencale, in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, hosts their annual plant sale that day. Local nurseries, farms and conservation groups will have their wares on display and for sale. Local craftsman are also on hand with great creations for the garden and home. This is a great way to shop for the coming season, enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Arboretum and stop by La Table Provencale for a fabulous dinner featuring the best of the season and our garden here at the inn, L’Auberge Provencale.

Our flower gardens and vegetable gardens are in full bloom. If the weather is beautiful we will serve al fresco on the terrace as well. We are booking up fast, so give us a call now to secure your table for this fabulous feast.
